If you try to install Remobo via the software center you get:

The package is of bad quality

The installation of a package which violates the quality standards isn’t allowed. This could cause
serious problems on your computer. Please contact the person or organisation who provided this package
file and include the details beneath.

Details are:

Lintian check results for /tmp/remobo_0.50.3-1_i386.deb:
E: remobo: control-file-has-bad-permissions postinst 0775 != 0755

E: remobo: control-file-has-bad-permissions postrm 0775 != 0755

This is a fresh install of beta 2. Worked fine in b1

Thanks for bring this up. It’s our packaging mistake. The Remobo debian’s control files should have permission mode of “0755”, instead of “0775”. We’ll have it fixed in the next release.

Hi,
I have the same problem!
How can I install remobo anyway?

Avatar gee Administator 13 post(s)

To markinmaine and max71:

The latest release of v0.60.0 should have this permission problem fixed. Please try it out and let us know

markeelxps:

Sorry for the delay. We’re trying to fix it in the next release.

Avatar max71 3 post(s)

To gee:
I have the same problem of markeelxps.
When does come the next release approximately?

Avatar gee Administator 13 post(s)

The next release of Remobo v0.60.2 should be out by end of this month.

@max71, which linux distribution & what version have you encountered the problem while installing Remobo? And is it just a warning for you, or does it prevent you from installing Remobo correctly?

Avatar max71 3 post(s)

@gee, my distribution is ubuntu 11.04, I encountered the problem in this version.
While installing, the system give me the same result of “markeelxps”, but sincerelly I never gone on, I don’t know if the installation goes right anyway. From a week, I will updatade OS to 11.10 version,then I will retry to install remobo, maybe, some change.
